Anne Hathaway’s casting as Catwoman in The Darkish Knight has the blessing of Julie Newmar, the actress to first portray the feline femme fatale on screen.
"She's going to be marvellous," she instructed the Los Angeles Instances, following the announcement of her most recent successor.
Newmar played Catwoman in the Batman tv present between 1966 and 1967.

Hathaway is the sixth actress to suit up as the slinkly villain on movie and television, after Newmar, Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.
